Ability to work at varying levels of detail, from high level component/logical architecture to Solution design
Technical leadership across a range of complex transformation projects, including the creation of architecture artefacts, migration, and implementation plans.
About the Portfolio
The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.
The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, Experience, Human Resources, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Property Services Group (PSG).
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) function, provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. The Role
Reporting to the Associate Director, Architecture & Solutions, you will provide enterprise‑level architectural leadership across core operational platforms supporting Finance, People (HR), Property Services, Governance, Risk & Compliance, and research enablement.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, portfolio leaders, and delivery teams to define target‑state architectures, roadmaps, standards, and reference architectures that enable scalable, secure, and future‑ready enterprise services.
The role also includes indirect line management and professional leadership of a small number of Solution Architects, ensuring strong alignment between solution delivery and enterprise architectural direction.

Skills & Experience
Lead enterprise‑wide architecture strategy, standards, and governance across enterprise services
Shape target‑state architectures and roadmaps to inform investment, prioritisation, and delivery
Provide architectural leadership across Data, Integration, Analytics, and AI‑enabled capabilities
What You’ll Bring
Senior Enterprise Architecture experience in large, complex organisations
Strong expertise in data architecture, analytics platforms, and integration/API patterns
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and align architecture to business strategy
Desirable Experience
TOGAF (or equivalent practical EA experience)
Experience with EA tools and platforms (e.g. Essential Cloud, Informatica, MuleSoft)
Exposure to AI, data platforms in higher education / federated environments
