We are seeking a highly technical Enterprise Architect to drive our infrastructure and application modernization strategies. If you are a seasoned Solution Architect with deep roots in software development and/or system engineering looking to elevate your impact to the enterprise level, this is the role for you.Key Responsibilities
1.Enterprise Solutioning & Architecture Center of Excellence
Solution Architecture Leadership: Define and stand-up solution architecture practices, guiding program and project architects to design solutions in alignment with the enterprise vision.
Reference Architecture & Standards: Lead the development and rollout of crucial Technology Standards and our Reference Architecture (ABB) to standardize delivery and accelerate time-to-market.
Enterprise Repository & Governance: Play a pivotal role in setting up and governing the Enterprise Repository, moving the organization toward automated guardrails and compliance. Actively participate in EA Governance Touchpoints (IRB, ARB, Go-Live) to enforce these standards.
2. Infrastructure, Cloud & Risk Management
Cloud & Infrastructure Ecosystems: Lead complex governance structures to transition critical systems to hybrid cloud ecosystems. Provide guidance on investments and decommissioning from a strict enterprise point of view (PoV).
Core Standards Development: Drive the definition and enforcement of enterprise-wide Identity and Access Management (IAM) Standards and Data Management Standards across all infrastructure environments.
Technical Debt Management: Partner with the Application Portfolio Management (APAM) function to actively manage, rationalize, and reduce strategic technical debt.
3. Application Modernization & Integration
Integration as a Core Capability: Champion integration and data as the core technical capabilities of our technology-driven organization. Lead the rollout of formal Integration Standards across the enterprise.
Platform Engineering: Lead the architecture of complex data integration platforms and open standards-based messaging systems to scale capacity and performance.
Resiliency & Performance Engineering: Design for operational resiliency, ensuring high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and industry-leading performance for mission-critical trading and enterprise systems.
Required:
A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
12+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or principal architecture role focused on Enterprise Architecture or Solution Architecture with a strong foundation encompassing software engineering, infrastructure, and security.
Extensive experience acting as a Lead Solution Architect, with a proven track record of scaling up to Enterprise Architecture responsibilities (shifting from project-level delivery to strategic, cross-portfolio governance)
Deep technical expertise across multiple domains, including:
Cloud & Infrastructure: IaaS (Azure, AWS, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern OS environments.
Integration & Messaging: Deep knowledge of iPaaS, Apache Camel, MuleSoft, Solace, AMQP, Kafka, and enterprise integration patterns.
Data & Development: Experience with relational/NoSQL databases and core programming languages (C, C++, Java).
Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of gaining support from senior tech stakeholders and guiding broader project teams through complex transitions.
Exceptional strategic thinking and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus at all levels of a global organization.
Preferred:
Proven experience in a global financial services or similarly regulated industry (preferably capital markets).
Relevant enterprise or technical certifications, such as TOGAF , advanced cloud architecture credentials (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert), or security certifications like CISSP.
Demonstrated experience in bridging the gap between Agile software delivery teams and long-term strategic planning, ensuring architectural governance supports rather than hinders agility.
Proven experience leading complex, large-scale technology transformations, such as legacy-to-cloud modernization, data centre consolidations, or strategic technology integration for Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
Hands-on experience defining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards and embedding automated architectural guardrails within modern DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Salary Range: 125,000/year - 135,000/year CAD
