F5

Enterprise Architect

Seattle Full time

At F5, we strive to bring a better digital world to life. Our teams empower organizations across the globe to create, secure, and run applications that enhance how we experience our evolving digital world. We are passionate about cybersecurity, from protecting consumers from fraud to enabling companies to focus on innovation.

Everything we do centers around people. That means we obsess over how to make the lives of our customers, and their customers, better. And it means we prioritize a diverse F5 community where each individual can thrive.

As a Enterprise Architect, you will define and drive the strategy, design, and evolution of our enterprise data architecture spanning GTM, Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, Customer Experience, and Corporate IT domains. You will own data modeling, data governance, integration patterns, and analytics foundations across ERP, HCM, ITSM, CX platforms, and custom applications—ensuring data integrity, quality, accessibility, and compliance while enabling scalable, data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture roadmap, including data models, data flows, master data management strategies, and data governance frameworks across ERP, HCM, ITSM, CRM, and corporate platforms.

  • Design and implement data integration patterns, including API-first data services, event-driven data pipelines, real-time data synchronization, change data capture (CDC), and ETL/ELT architectures across finance, HR, customer, and operational data domains.

  • Develop and enforce enterprise data modeling standards, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models for transactional, analytical, and master data stores.

  • Architect master data management (MDM) solutions for critical data domains: customer master, vendor master, employee master, product/SKU master, chart of accounts, and cross-functional reference data.

  • Design the enterprise data warehouse and lakehouse architecture, including dimensional modeling, data vault methodologies, and real-time analytics layers that support business intelligence (Tableau) and advanced analytics use cases.

  • Collaborate with Marketing, GTM, Finance, HR, Legal, Customer Experience, IT Operations, and Procurement teams to understand data requirements, define data contracts, and deliver scalable data solutions that drive operational efficiency and analytics capabilities.

  • Establish and govern data quality frameworks, including data profiling, validation rules, lineage tracking, data cataloging, and metadata management across all enterprise systems.

  • Define data governance policies, data stewardship models, and data classification standards, ensuring compliance with SOX, GDPR, SOC 2, and other regulatory frameworks for financial, employee, and customer data.

  • Evaluate emerging data technologies, including AI/ML-powered data quality tools, knowledge graphs, data fabric/data mesh architectures, automated data cataloging, and intelligent data pipeline orchestration.

  • Participate in vendor assessments and build vs. buy decisions for data platforms, integration tools, MDM solutions, and analytics infrastructure, with a focus on total cost of ownership and data capability maturity.

  • Guide cross-functional delivery teams on data architecture for complex business processes, including Quote-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Hire-to-Retire, and Record-to-Report, ensuring consistent data definitions and seamless data flows.

  • Support data architecture for modernization initiatives, including ERP migrations, legacy data consolidation, M&A data integration, and data replatforming efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of data architecture experience with deep focus on enterprise data management across Finance, HR, GTM, Procurement, or IT Service Management domains.

  • Deep expertise in data modeling methodologies (dimensional modeling, data vault, 3NF) and hands-on experience designing data architectures for major enterprise platforms including ERP (Oracle EBS & Fusion), HCM, ITSM, and CRM systems.

  • Strong understanding of data flows within core business processes, including Financial Planning & Analysis, General Ledger & Close, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Revenue Operations, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Talent Management, and Procurement Operations.

  • Proven experience with data integration platforms (Dell Boomi), iPaaS solutions, API management, CDC tools, and enterprise data pipeline orchestration.

  • Demonstrated expertise in data warehousing, data lakehouse architectures, business intelligence platforms (Tableau), and analytics data modeling strategies.

  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality management, metadata management, and data cataloging tools and practices.

  • Deep understanding of data compliance and regulatory requirements, including SOX data controls, GDPR data privacy, SOC 2 data security, financial reporting data standards, and HR data privacy regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus on data standards, governance policies, and architectural decisions across Finance, HR, Legal, and IT organizations.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate data architecture concepts to business executives and translate business data requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide data transformation initiatives, including cloud data platform migrations, data mesh/data fabric implementations, or enterprise MDM programs.

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML data foundations, including feature stores, training data pipelines, vector databases, data labeling workflows, and analytics-ready data preparation for predictive models (lead scoring, financial forecasting, churn prediction).

  • Background in M&A data integration, including data mapping, data migration strategies, system-of-record consolidation, data deduplication, and golden record management.

  • Experience with financial data architecture, including revenue recognition data models, subscription billing data flows, quote-to-cash data lineage, and financial close data orchestration.

  • Knowledge of modern data stack components, including cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery), data orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt), streaming platforms (Kafka), and data observability solutions.

  • Understanding of data cost management (FinOps for data), data storage optimization, and data lifecycle management strategies.

  • Experience implementing data mesh principles, including domain-oriented data ownership, self-serve data infrastructure, and federated computational governance.
