We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements, deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access, infrastructure and safety.

About the Opportunity
The Strategy and Architecture team develop and implement investment strategy and deliver commercial and information technology services to drive high performance and improved commercial outcomes for VicRoads. The Enterprise Architect is responsible for proactively and holistically leading enterprise responses to disruptive forces by identifying and analysing the execution of change toward the desired business vision and targeted outcomes.
The Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping and enabling VicRoads’ digital transformation. This role is part of the Strategy and Architecture function, working closely with cross-functional engineering, operations, and delivery teams to ensure architecture is actionable, collaborative, and aligned with agile ways of working. The architect will lead domain-specific initiatives focusing on areas including our cloud and network platforms and our enterprise security, driving the patterns and standards required to meet our obligations and digital transformation aspirations, and ensuring that architecture is not only strategic but also deeply connected to delivery and operations.
About you
You are an experienced enterprise architect with a strong academic background, holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Analysis or a related discipline. You bring deep, hands-on experience across multiple architecture domains, with a proven ability to deliver components of holistic enterprise architecture in complex, large-scale environments.
You have extensive experience spanning at least three architectural or technical disciplines—such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, data, or operations—and are comfortable working across both strategic and operational planning contexts, ideally within the public sector or similarly complex organisations. You have played a key role in digital transformation initiatives and understand how to align architecture outcomes to business objectives.
You bring strong expertise in cloud and security, including demonstrable experience designing and operating AWS-based enterprise environments, particularly within regulated contexts. You have also worked closely with CISO and security teams to uplift enterprise security capability. Experience supporting mission‑critical systems or services is highly valued.
Formal architecture qualifications (such as TOGAF or COBIT) and certifications in modern cloud, network and security disciplines—including AWS and CISSP—are desirable and will be highly regarded.
