What you'll do here:
As an Enterprise Architect in our Cengage Digital organization, you will be responsible for providing architectural mentorship across multiple Core System platforms, driving adoption of architecture, and actively contributing as part of the delivery teams. As a successful technology leader, you will work within a highly collaborative, multi-functional Agile environment and participate in the Cengage architecture council. You will partner closely with Enterprise Architects and Software Architects to incorporate project team insights and industry standard methodologies into Cengage Group’s enterprise architecture. Responsibilities
Create effective architecture artifacts that express current, transitional, target and strategic state architectures.
Evaluate and present solutions including how to apply them to market group business needs in a manageable, efficient, and timely manner.
Promote a culture of data literacy and insight-driven execution across technology and business stakeholders.
Own the development and deployment of enterprise data architectures enabling real-time insights, improved forecasting, and measurable business outcomes.
Ability to collaborate and influence people at multiple levels across the enterprise including product managers and the engineering organization to develop innovative solutions and best practices.
Translate and present technical concepts into practical business terms for leaders in both small and large group settings.
Support the implementation of enterprise programs to enable business growth and strategic goals.
Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities with attention to detail.
Solid understanding of all facets of systems development and operations scenarios.
Skills you will need here:
Required
Overall information technology experience - 10+ years
Systems or application development experience with OO languages such as C#, Java - 10+ years
Previous experience as an Architect - 3+ years.
Strong experience modernizing and improving cloud nativity, implementing hybrid cloud strategies, and creating APIs to bridge legacy systems with cloud-native platforms. Cloud Architect Certification is a plus
Proven track record to design and build scalable, secure, high-availability enterprise systems, leveraging CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks for global user bases.
Drive cross-functional collaboration to operationalize AI solutions, reducing time-to-value and improving decision-making capabilities.
Experience implementing service oriented and component based architectures.
Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
Experience with software development life cycles and technical design principles. (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Disciplined Agile, TOGAF, etc.).
Experience in designing and implementing new technology proof-of-concepts
Indirect people management
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work experience.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
In this position, you will be eligible to participate in the company’s discretionary incentive bonus program. This position's bonus target amount, which is not guaranteed and is dependent on individual performance and overall company results among other factors, is provided below.
