Summary

The Enterprise Applications (EA) Manager for engineering design and development tools (e.g., Oracle Fusion PLM, Jira, Jama, SOLIDWORKS, Altium) leads the architecture, administration, and optimization of the Engineering applications ecosystem.

This is a working manager role with approximately 75% hands-on technical execution as an Enterprise Applications technical lead/administrator and 25% team leadership. The role directly supports engineering system configuration, integration, and issue resolution while overseeing a small team and the broader tool portfolio.

Partners closely with Engineering and other elated customers to ensure tools are aligned, adopted, and delivering value. Responsible for roadmap, consolidation, cost and license optimization, and advancing capabilities including AI and automation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Defines department strategy and ensures execution aligns with Engineering and business priorities.
  • Acts as technical lead and primary owner of engineering applications; performs hands-on configuration, administration, integration, and complex troubleshooting.
  • Operates as a working manager, directly supporting systems while leading solution design and architecture.
  • Defines scope, estimates, and solution approaches; tracks progress and escalates risks.
  • Leads tool standardization and consolidation to reduce redundancy and improve efficiency.
  • Owns application portfolio roadmap, lifecycle, and performance.
  • Monitors utilization, performance, and adoption; drives continuous improvement.
  • Manages licenses, vendors, and cost optimization.
  • Partners with Engineering to align tools to needs, manage expectations, and ensure effective support.
  • Drives tool awareness, training, and adoption across Engineering.
  • Identifies and implements automation and AI capabilities; incorporates into roadmap and team skillsets.
  • Ensures quality through standards, processes, and documentation.
  • Oversees implementation, maintenance, and support of EA applications; collaborates with DBT and cross-functional teams.
  • Provides long-term planning for scalable and sustainable solutions.
  • Develops team capabilities, manages performance, and supports hiring and mentoring.
  • Serves as a trusted Engineering Systems advisor to Engineering and IT leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
  • 8+ years in enterprise applications, engineering systems, or related technical areas.
  • 2+ years supporting engineering environments (e.g., PLM, CAD, ALM tools).
  • Strong background in application architecture, administration, integrations, or development.
  • Experience with cloud, cybersecurity, and regulated data (e.g., CUI).
  • Exposure to AI/ML, automation, or advanced analytics.

The salary range for this role is:

$117,500 - $166,425
