Position Overview:

The Enterprise Application Developer is a full-time position in the ITS department that will be part of the team that supports enterprise applications. This position will work with our team to implement and support applications such as Workday, Workday reporting tools, Workday Prism, and Workday integration tools.

The current primary focus of the Enterprise Applications Developer will be within Workday reporting and analytics. They will enjoy working closely with various departments, as well as IT business analysts, to implement fixes, enhancements, and new technologies. They will provide backup coverage for other members of the Enterprise Information Systems team. Further, in our constantly changing world of technology, they will have a thirst for learning new technologies.

Compensation:

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $77,300 and $79,900. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

Data and Integrations

  • Work with IT staff as well as campus constituents to support an integration environment using modem integration tools and techniques as part of our integrations team. Our primary tool is currently SnapLogic, as well as all Workday integration tools. We have legacy SSIS scripts as well. 

  • Continually develop knowledge in integration technologies and strategies.

  • Monitor and triage incoming tickets for new and existing integrations.

  • Help to provide and support Workday EIBs as appropriate.

  • Assist with documentation of integrations, including our repository of IDDs and data dictionary.

Workday Reporting

  • Actively participate in the Workday Reporting team to build and maintain new reports in Workday.

  • Maintain expert knowledge in all types of Workday reporting tools, including Workday BIRTS

Workday Prism

  • Actively participate in the Workday Prism team to build and maintain new data sources in Workday.

  • Assist with documentation of Prism projects and data.

  • Act as an advocate for Workday Prism, helping the team to understand its nuances and identify needs that it can fulfill.

Workday 

  • Actively participate in the Workday groups and meetings, such as the Workday Leads monthly meeting.

  • Over time, grow knowledge of the Workday application in order to help support our campus. 

General

  • Act as liaison with software vendors as assigned.

  • Develop productive relationships with IT staff and users.

  • Promote sharing of information and expertise.

  • Continually develop knowledge in all areas of the EIS team to provide overlap support.

  • Participate in appropriate data governance activities, and promote proper use and security of college data.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of full-time professional work experience with integrated information systems, systems analysis, design, and coding required 

  • A strong foundation in database concepts

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; polished interpersonal skills

  • Evidence of superior analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability and willingness to adapt to a fluid work environment, including team and independent responsibilities

  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative decision-making

  • Desire and ability to work with end-users and other IT staff

  • Experience should include at least three of these technologies: SnapLogic; Workday integration tools; Workday Prism; Workday Reporting; Workday Extend, REST web services; c# programming; Apache Tomcat; html/CSS; java; GIT; project management software such as Asana or Jira; modem integration platforms; identity management applications, .NET framework;

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the theories, principles, and current trends of integrated information systems

  • Experience with industry-standard integration tools such as SnapLogic, Informatica, Mulesoft

  • Experience with SQL coding and tools

  • Experience with industry-standard reporting software, such as PowerBI, SSRS, Cognos, Tableau

  • Experience with end-user support and training

  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner using a wide variety of presentation strategies (e.g., graphs, tables, text, multimedia)

  • Experience in the Microsoft SQL environment including SSRS and SSIS

  • Experience with data governance concepts as well as data dictionary tools.

Must have the ability to understand and follow written and oral work instructions, operations, safety procedures, and hazardous labels.
