Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the Common Connectivity Device (CCD) Project Lead in the Combat System Simulation (CSS) Branch (Code M33) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.
  • You will lead the modernization and delivery of the Common Connectivity Device (CCD) across U.S. Navy laboratories.
  • You will contribute to software development efforts through successful project delivery.
  • You will collaborate with other software developers and engineers to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain CCD software products.
  • You will document delivered software sufficiently to enable other software development teams to maintain the product.
  • You will prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status and operation of software.
  • You will design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
  • You will participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
  • You will package and support deployment of releases.
  • You will analyze and resolve technical and application problems.
  • You will assess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected parties.

Qualifications: This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a Computer Engineer (0854-series), an Operations Research Analyst (1515-series), a Mathematician (1520-series), a Computer Scientist (1550-series), or a Data Scientist (1560-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. Applicants in positions with occupational series other than those listed (0854, 1515, 1520, 1550 and 1560) may apply; however, you must apply directly to the series listed in this vacancy that is most applicable to your qualifications. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-3 pay band (GS-9 through GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer or scientist applying systems engineering principles to research, analyze, interpret, evaluate and develop a software intensive system. Examples of qualifying experience may include (1) experience with systems engineering analysis and design; (2) experience with agile development, data analytics and Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools, (3) experience supporting the development of fast pace prototyping activities; (4) knowledge of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices for delivering value on assigned tasking; (5) experience conducting engineering design, development and analysis that results in the identification and recommendation of systems functionality that satisfy required capabilities for warfighters.
