Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems is seeking an Engineering Test Technician 3 who will be responsible for testing and troubleshooting at the system level to help solve failures within production. The Engineering test technician will have the support of the engineering team in Northridge to solve issues in support of the AARGM program. This role will include working with operations to coordinate testing efforts, as well as working with engineering to support projects. This position is located in Ridgecrest, CA and will be reporting to the Manager of Test and Evaluation at Northridge, CA.
This position is required to be full-time, on-site in the Ridgecrest, CA location. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position. Applicants must have an active US Government DoD Secret security clearance.

- What You’ll Do:
- Solve complex test challenges – Perform troubleshooting by analyzing failures that occurred at a system level
- Leverage advanced instrumentation – Operate oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies, and other test equipment to gather high-quality data.
- Perform rigorous evaluations – Perform tests by following ATPs or technical memos
- Cross-functional collaboration – Interface with systems, integration, and program teams to keep projects on schedule using log files and script messages to determine cause of failures
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of digital and analog circuit troubleshooting experience
- Experience with using different test equipment, i.e. oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, DMM, signal generator, power supplies
- Experience in reading electrical and mechanical schematics
- Problem solving skills utilizing mechanical ability, the ability to multitask, and prioritize work are required.
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- Active US Government DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment
- Able to work independently with minimal direction
- Previous work on DoD military development and production programs
- Knowledge in environmental stress screening procedures
- Troubleshooting of complex systems
Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
