Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking an Engineering Technician – Level 1 or Level 2 to join our team in Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, FL.
The Engineering Technician performs hands on activities/tasks associated with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and thermal protection systems application, assembly, and check-out operations. Knowledge of coating removal, critical coating application, and pneumatic tooling operations is also desired
This position will work a 4/10 schedule, with every Friday off.
As demand grows, we can anticipate scheduled Friday workdays, the possibility of rotating shifts, and the need for overtime.
In this job, you will:
Disassemble hardware and remove coatings for inspection.
Coat surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective coating such as alodine and paint using spray guns.
Select and mix coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush.
Work from diagrams, drawings and electronics shop instructions, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools.
May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.
This position can be filled at either a Level 1 or Level 2.
Basic Qualifications for Level 1:
High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
No clearance required to start
Comfortable working from heights utilizing fall protection as well as drive heavy equipment such as forklifts and diesel tugs.
Proficiency with hands-on mechanical assembly, thermal protection material application, protective finish removal processes and paint application of metal structures.
Proficient with manual and power tools.
Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office.

High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
