POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the design, development, and validation of new products. This position works closely with engineers to build prototypes, perform functional and performance testing, and assist in transitioning designs from concept to production. Responsibilities include hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and providing feedback to improve product design and manufacturability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist engineers in developing and refining product designs, including prototype assembly and testing.
  • Set up and execute product validation tests, collect performance data, and document results.
  • Support design reviews by providing technical input and observations from testing.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of development activities, test procedures, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate on 3D modeling, CAD drawings, and technical documentation for new products.
  • Recommend design improvements based on test results and manufacturability considerations.
  • Assist in material selection and fabrication processes for prototypes.
  • Troubleshoot issues during prototype builds and testing; propose corrective actions.
  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Provide support during pilot runs and pre-production builds.

  • Experience in manufacturing operations and testing
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude with hand and basic power tools
  • Ability to read blueprints and use various types of measuring equipment
  • Ability to use and/or learn various forms of CAD software ( Creo ,SolidWorks)
  • Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Basic computer skills for using lab related software and MS Office
  • Basic knowledge of electrical devices and circuitry, and industrial controls

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree in engineering or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing environment

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $59,700.00 - $89,500.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
