Job Description
Job Summary:
This position will engage in troubleshooting and repair of equipment supporting all build levels of Teledyne FLIR electro-optical systems. Working under general supervision, support Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to perform root cause and corrective action on failed PCBAs and Test Fixtures. Assist in validation of new product circuit board assemblies, reliability testing and the creation and bring up of new board tests. Use manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment (including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus). Work with New Product Introduction (NPI) on build and repair of customer cable sets and in house test cables.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Root cause failing boards and board test fixtures in the production environment.
Test and assembly fixture design, fabrication, assembly, repair, validation, and documentation.
Perform preventative maintenance on test equipment (vibration tables and thermal chambers).
Build and repair fixtures to engineering drawings.
Build and repair customer cable sets to engineering drawings.
Job Qualifications:
Associates degree in a Technical or Engineering discipline (Electronics, Computer Technology, Manufacturing Technology, etc.) or equivalent working experience.
5+ years of electronics/mechanical assembly experience preferred.
Familiar with IPC 610 and/or IPC 520, certification a plus.
Familiar with soldering (IPC J-STD-001).
Strong computer hardware and software skills (video devices, drivers, peripherals).
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Familiar with MIL Spec Connectors/Interfaces a plus.
Detailed oriented and self-motivated.
