Job Summary: You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Facilities Division, Regional Fuel Department, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickman, Hawaii.

Major Duties:

  • You will originate, plan, and review designs and submit recommendations for new construction, repair and maintenance of the Fuel Department's fuel storage distribution facilities.
  • You will review operational needs and submit recommendations for reduction, realignment, repairs, and maintenance of fuel distribution facilities.
  • You will interpret, review, approve, inspect, identify, and recommend solutions concerning the construction. Installation, and operation equipment, systems, and materials used to operate and support a fuel distribution facility.
  • You will serve as an assistant facilities manager responsible for service, maintenance, and inspection of contracts.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You may be required to work overtime and/or on weekends as needed.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Applying knowledge of methods and techniques of engineering, construction and maintenance of a bulk fuel terminal and non-fuel related facilities to identify deficiencies and initiate appropriate corrective repairs; 2) Organizing and maintaining a database to track work request submittals, facility asset locations, work progress, configuration changes, and job completion; 3) Performing site surveillance and work inspections to determine physical work performed, adherence to schedule progress, fulfilment of quality standards, and adherence to environmental and safety standards; and 4) Developing, formatting, and presenting visual elements and graphics to brief management on status of assignments and projects.
