This position is located 100% on site in Rocket Center, WV. No telework is available.

Description:

Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies. Evaluates operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares for painting by masking, stripping, sanding, prepping parts and components
  • Blends and mixes paints, inks, and coatings to proper spraying consistency
  • Must be able to perform detail touch ups
  • Coordinates processes for painting production parts
  • Able to work with various chemicals to complete scope of work
  • Able to obtain half & full-face respirator certification
  • Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems
  • Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years painting/surface prep experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, or manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overhead
  • DOD Secret Clearance required
  • Must be willing to work any shift

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Painting/surface prep experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, or manufacturing. 
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing

This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.

Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
