Scope of Position

As an Engineering Services Specialist, you will lead and oversee all support activities for the engineering team, ensuring compliance with established standards and ISO procedures. This role includes supporting daily engineering operations, managing document control, and creating part numbers and bills of materials for product builds and costing. You will support manufacturing by providing work instructions, labeling, and packaging guidance, while producing detailed parts and assembly drawings for products. Additional responsibilities include coordinating engineering change notifications, maintaining ISO processes, managing product information data (PIM), and ensuring regulatory compliance. Success in this role requires strong technical judgment, sound decision-making within standard procedures, and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs.  

This position does not have direct reports.

This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Engineering Systems and CAD and is based on site 5 days a week at our Export, PA manufacturing facility.  

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform daily support for document management services, design, and detailing including data entry, documentation of product build and packaging following departmental/ISO procedures.  

  • Set up Part Numbers and Bill of Materials for product build and costing. 

  • Support manufacturing floor with product build, labeling and packaging, work instructions for product build as required. 

  • Produce detailed part and assembly drawings for product, tooling, gages and machine fixtures. 

  • Assist engineers with design and conceptualization of new products, tooling, and equipment. 

  • Gather data to assist the engineering staff. 

  • Utilize departmental systems such as ERP and Barcode Label software. 

  • Produce design models, assemblies, layouts, and drawings, which meet the engineer’s design intent utilizing 3D and 2D computer aided drafting software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD). 

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of ISO processes and procedures as required in the quality business system. 

  • Manage the details and process for Dormont PIM data, product content resources, delivery channels, data quality, and governance. 

  • Work with engineers in responding to customer data compliance requests, such as EU REACH, RoHS, and TSCA. 

  • Coordinate and assist with engineering change notifications (ECN) and follow through. 

  • All other duties as required. 

  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by [insert title of manager’s position] or Company management.

  • Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency)

  • Travel Requirements: 5%

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred or Technical Engineering experience that encompasses competence and theoretical knowledge equivalent to a standard curriculum of an accredited BS degree in Engineering. 

  • 5+ years of experience in product engineering, sustaining engineering, or a related field. 

  • Autodesk's Inventor Series CAD software experience preferred 

  • Experience in the application of ANSI Y14 standards in design documentation 

  • Experience leading a team a plus 

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP Business System software a plus 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and self-sufficient 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 

  • Ability to collaborate well in a team and cross-functional environment 

  • Knowledge of or experience with the gas conveyance industry and/or products is a plus 

  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computer tools, such as Microsoft: Word, Excel, Power Point, Project. 

  • Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing environment a plus. 

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. 

  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.

  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including [insert checks], and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions:

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Export, PA location (Monday – Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment.
