The Engineering Sales Operations Lead is focused on the smooth delivery of the Engineered Systems to ensure world-class sales and customer service support. This position is responsible for implementing and executing processes, policies and procedures, organizing and coordinating engineering workflow from the field to the engineers.  

What you'll do:

Order Submittal – Ensure complete and accurate Questionnaires are submitted consistently and through the formalized process. 

  • Responsible for completion and accuracy quality control

  • Ensure opportunity creation and updates

  • Consult on requested solution to assure best solution for the customer

  • Submit to engineering with best chance for no revision

  • Work with ERPDM on best solution results and sales rep development

Conceptual Plan Development – Work with sales team to create the ideal solution for the customer.

  • Mediate engineering discussion to streamline chatter and get to best solution

  • Understand fleet availability and match to proposed conceptual

  • Proactively suggest potential sourcing and/or purchases to meet order requirements

  • Communicate with customers and/or sales team to clarify job requirements

  • Sales rep guidance/coaching to develop engineered systems expertise

  • Work with ERPDM on best solution results and sales rep development

  • Revision efficiency – strive for minimum revisions

Quoting – Arrive at a proposal that best fits the customer needs and maximizes our pricing opportunity

  • Complete all-inclusive proposals

  • Provide guidance on pricing, understand pricing dynamics i.e. competition, their price, rate achievement

Stamped Plan – Ensure timely and accurate delivery of the final stamped plan

  • Responsible for plan distribution

  • Work with all parties to verify accuracy

  • Support fleet matching

  • Revision efficiency – striver for minimum revisions

  • Facilitate with engineering and ERPDM to reduce delivery time while maintaining accuracy

  • Monitor pricing to minimize plan fee discounting

  • Suggest process improvements to reduce conceptual, quote, and plan turnaround time

District Support (Multi) – Support adjacent sales processus for multiple districts                                                                                                                   

  • Support job scheduling process and tools

  • Foster sales rep relationship – virtual, in-person (RAL’s), branch/district sales meetings

  • Participate in, present, and develop sales rep training

  • Strengthen customer relationships working sales team

  • Provide input on pricing, build consistency and continuity

  • KPI’s & reporting

Product Knowledge – Learn and train on the entire portfolio of engineered systems products   

  • Become SME on products and applications

  • Proficient on suggesting engineered systems solutions

  • Good at training sales team and engineers on products and applications

  • Product introduction and discovery

  • Support vendor relationships related to engineered systems fleet requirements

  • Other duties as requests by management

Requirements:

  • ·Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • Minimum 5 years of technical rental sales experience in the trench safety product/services line

  • Working knowledge of existing products and methods used in support of engineered excavation systems and how they are used in the rental market

  • Very process and detail oriented

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

  • Teamwork driven

  • Proficiency with MS Office (specifically Word, and Excel)

  • Project management skills

  • Strong presentations skills

  • Strong customer focus/service skills

  • Engineering/mechanical aptitude: Ability to properly size, quote, install and maintain large projects    

  • Familiar with sales support programs: SFDC, Dodge, PEC or other CRM software

  • Possesses the following additional competencies: leadership, strategic thinking, trade area cooperation and teamwork skills

  • Travel up to 50%
