Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a world-class Engineering Manager specializing in Wet Utilities to lead the design management and engineering coordination for Trojena. As a key member of the NEOM project team, you will be responsible for the engineering integrity of the water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure that will support this iconic mountain destination.
Given Trojena’s unique topography—ranging from lake-level developments to high-altitude ski slopes—you will manage complex hydraulic challenges, ensuring that utility designs are sustainable, resilient, and integrated seamlessly with the master plan.
Technical Leadership: Lead the engineering lifecycle for all wet utilities, including potable water networks, firewater systems, sewage treatment plants (STP), and sophisticated mountain drainage solutions.
Design Management: Oversee multidisciplinary design consultants and internal teams to ensure all engineering deliverables (Calculations, Drawings, Specifications) meet NEOM standards and Parsons’ quality benchmarks.
Complex Hydraulics: Resolve high-pressure piping challenges and pump station requirements necessitated by the extreme vertical elevation changes of the Trojena site.
Interdisciplinary Coordination: Act as the primary technical interface between the utilities team and other engineering disciplines (Civil, Structural, MEP, and Environmental) to ensure a clash-free design environment.
BIM & Digital Delivery: Ensure that all utility designs are developed within a Building Information Modeling (BIM) framework, facilitating data-driven construction and future asset management.
Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost-saving and efficiency in utility routing and material selection without compromising on the project's high sustainability goals.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs comply with KSA national standards, NEOM utility codes, and international best practices for water conservation and environmental protection.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in utility engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior management or lead role on large-scale infrastructure projects.
Sector Expertise: Proven expertise in Wet Utilities (Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, and Reclaimed Water). Experience with desalination and high-head pumping systems is a significant advantage.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. A Master’s Degree or Chartered Engineer (PE/CEng) status is highly preferred.
Giga-Project Experience: Previous experience working on NEOM, Red Sea, or similar large-scale Middle Eastern infrastructure projects is heavily weighted.
Software Proficiency: Mastery of hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks) and familiarity with Revit/Navisworks workflows.
Innovation: The ability to apply "out-of-the-box" engineering solutions for water management in an arid, mountainous environment.
Strategic Thinking: Balancing immediate construction needs with the long-term operational sustainability of the NEOM region.
Leadership: Exceptional ability to manage consultant performance and mentor junior engineering staff in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
