About the role
As an Engineering Manager working in Practice, you’ll lead a collaborative, multi-functional, agile team working to deliver ground breaking tax and compliance systems and enable new user experiences within this broad and dynamic domain.
Using your technical expertise, you'll drive the engineering strategy, shaping product and technology roadmaps that enable the continued evolution of MYOB Practice products. You will inspire innovation, incremental delivery, and continuous improvement, all while ensuring security and compliance remain at the forefront of our operations.

What we're looking for;
- Cloud & Distributed Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience building and maintaining distributed systems in AWS and serverless architectures (Lambdas, event-driven patterns).
- Technical Leadership & Solution Design: Proven ability to lead Principal Developers, design robust solutions, and manage complex production systems while driving engineering standards and operational excellence.
- Reliability & Observability: Skilled in implementing end-to-end observability, incident management practices (on-call planning, post-incident reviews), and continuous reliability improvements.
- Security & Data Privacy: Strong understanding of security principles, critical data management, and vulnerability management for secure and compliant systems.
- People Leadership & Collaboration: Experienced in guiding dispersed teams, fostering collaboration, and managing performance, growth plans, hiring, onboarding, and feedback processes.
