Engineering Manager – Product Engineering, Data Center APAC

Role Overview
The Engineering Manager, Product Engineering Data Center APAC is responsible for leading and developing the air‑cooled centrifugal chiller product engineering team in Wuxi. This role supports the global data center business by driving technology roadmap execution, leading new product introduction (NPI) programs in align with global data center product roadmap, and ensuring excellence in sustaining engineering, product quality, and cross‑functional execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and people leadership to the air‑cooled centrifugal chiller product engineering team in Wuxi, supporting global data center applications.
- Lead the development and execution of the technology roadmap for air‑cooled centrifugal chillers, aligned with data center customer and market requirements.
- Align APAC engineering activities with global product strategies and roadmaps; lead engineering execution for NPI programs in the APAC region.
- Oversee sustaining engineering activities and kaizen initiatives to continuously improve product reliability, cost competitiveness, manufacturability, serviceability, and lifecycle performance.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Service teams to ensure successful product introductions and lifecycle support.
- Drive robust engineering processes, including DFM/DFMEA, design reviews, and compliance with technical and documentation standards
- Manage non‑standard contract engineering activities, including design reviews, detailed engineering solutions, and on‑time delivery of technical documentation.
- Provide internal technical expertise and support, ensuring timely response to technical inquiries and effective resolution of product‑related issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in HVAC&R or a related engineering discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in chiller product engineering, including at least 3 years in a people management or technical leadership role; data center cooling experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated strengths in program management, problem solving, root‑cause analysis, and cross‑functional leadership.
- Solid understanding of international and domestic standards applicable to HVAC and industrial products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
