What you will do:
Job Level Definition
Leads a large and complex function within Cloud Consulting with full accountability for operational success, strategic alignment, and cross-functional integration.
Manages Solution Architects (SA), Subject Matter Experts (SME), and Senior Technical Consultants (Sr. TC), overseeing multiple programs and portfolios that significantly impact business outcomes.
Acts as a key advisor to executive leadership, influencing long-term cloud strategy, application modernization roadmaps, cybersecurity posture, automation adoption, database transformation, and HPC enablement. Owns delivery governance, financial performance, talent strategy, and customer satisfaction across a broad practice area.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the strategic vision for Kubernetes platforms, automation-first delivery models, application development and modernization, middleware and database transformation, HPC solutions, and cybersecurity services.
- Lead and scale high-performing consulting teams, including managers, architects, and senior technologists, typically managing 40+ direct and indirect reports.
- Oversee end-to-end transformation programs including custom application development, legacy modernization, cloud migration, containerization, microservices adoption, API modernization, middleware upgrades, database migration (relational and distributed), and secure cloud adoption.
- Lead HPC workload modernization, including performance optimization, workload scheduling, scalable compute architectures, and integration with hybrid cloud platforms.
- Establish enterprise Kubernetes standards covering cluster architecture, multi-cluster governance, observability, service mesh, resilience, and platform engineering practices.
- Drive database and middleware modernization initiatives including performance tuning, high availability design, data resilience, and migration to managed cloud services.
- Embed DevSecOps and zero-trust principles across application and infrastructure lifecycles, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous security validation.
- Drive automation at scale using Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, GitOps practices, CI/CD, and policy-as-code frameworks.
- Own financial governance including P&L accountability, margin optimization, forecasting, and resource planning across multi-million-dollar portfolios.
- Serve as executive escalation point for critical programs, ensuring timely resolution of risks and alignment with business objectives.
- Build strong C-level relationships and position the organization as a strategic partner in cloud, modernization, HPC, and cybersecurity transformation.
- Develop reusable frameworks, accelerators, and best practices to enhance delivery consistency and consulting differentiation.
What you need to bring:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or MBA) preferred.
- 15+ years of industry experience with at least 5 years in techno, business, and people management roles.
- Proven experience leading large-scale Kubernetes, application development, migration, middleware and database transformation, HPC, automation, and cybersecurity programs.
Knowledge and Skills
Cloud & Kubernetes Leadership
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes architecture, container orchestration, platform engineering, and cloud-native patterns.
- Strong understanding of multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, on-prem).
- Experience with service mesh, ingress management, workload security, and observability platforms.
Application Development & Modernization
- Strong experience in custom application development, modernization of legacy applications, and cloud-native design patterns.
- Expertise in rehosting, re-platforming, refactoring, and microservices transformation.
- API strategy, integration patterns, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience establishing structured migration and modernization frameworks.
Middleware & Database Transformation
- Experience in middleware platforms, integration layers, and enterprise messaging systems.
- Database modernization including relational, distributed, and managed cloud databases.
- High availability design, replication, backup and recovery, and performance optimization.
High Performance Computing (HPC)
- Knowledge of HPC architectures, workload schedulers, parallel processing frameworks, and performance engineering.
- Experience designing scalable compute environments across on-prem and hybrid cloud.
- Understanding of compute-intensive workloads, storage optimization, and network performance tuning.
Automation & DevSecOps
- Enterprise-scale Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, etc.).
- CI/CD architecture, GitOps practices, automated testing, and progressive delivery models.
- Secure SDLC integration and automated compliance enforcement.
Cybersecurity & Risk Governance
- Zero-trust architecture implementation and identity-first security models.
- Cloud security posture management, container security, and runtime protection.
- Regulatory compliance, risk frameworks, and business continuity planning (RTO/RPO optimization).
Financial & Commercial Acumen
- Strong P&L ownership and portfolio management experience.
- FinOps governance and cost optimization strategies.
- Experience structuring large consulting engagements and outcome-based delivery models.
Strategic & People Leadership
- Proven ability to build and scale Cloud Centers of Excellence.
- Executive stakeholder management and board-level communication.
- Talent development, succession planning, and leadership pipeline creation.
- Experience leading global, matrixed organizations across regions.
