Profile Overview
We are looking for a product-minded Tech Lead who acts as the "CTO" at our SaaS company. You will report directly to the Head of Product and lead a tight-knit technical team of 3 Developers and 1 QA. This is a hybrid role for someone who isn't ready to hang up their coding gloves yet: you will spend roughly 30-60% of your time hands-on in the code (NodeJS & Vue.js context) and the rest organizing the team, planning sprints, and translating product vision into technical reality.
If you love "playing Lego" with technical scopes, forecasting delivery, and ensuring a smooth sprint while still shipping code, this role is for you.
Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be:
- Take ownership of the Sprint Cycle: You will immediately streamline our sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives together with the Head of Product, ensuring predictability and clear communication regarding delays or risks.
- Drive the "AI-First" Transformation: You will lead the technical implementation of our new AI-powered session creation flows, collaborating closely with the central saas.group AI team.
- Lead the Vue 3 Migration: You will strategize and execute the continued migration of our stack from Vue 2 to Vue 3, balancing technical debt with feature delivery.
- Ensure Security Compliance: You will take charge of our security policies and prepare the engineering side for our annual ISO 27001 audit.
Your responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Organization: You will act as the Engineering Manager and Technical Lead, organizing the team's workload, managing the backlog with Product, and ensuring the team has clear specs and estimates.
- Hands-on Development: You will remain an active contributor to the codebase (approx. 40-50% capacity), tackling complex features, fixing bugs, and reviewing code to maintain high standards.
- Product & Technical Bridge: You will work hand-in-hand with the Head of Product to assess technical feasibility, challenge requirements, and propose solutions that balance user value with engineering constraints.
- Mentorship & Growth: You will mentor the development team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and helping team members grow their skills.
- Security & DevOps Oversight: You will be the main point of contact for our DevOps partners and manage our security compliance (Vanta, ISO audits).
What You bring to the table
- Language Skills: You are fluent in French (required for team communication) and have professional proficiency in English (for documentation and group-wide communication).
- Technical Seniority: You have deep experience in modern JavaScript ecosystems, specifically Vue.js, and Node.js. You are comfortable diving into a full-stack environment.
- Organization & Process: You have previous experience leading a small team or acting as a Lead Developer. You excel at sprint planning, estimation, and forecasting.
- Product Mindset: You don't just execute tickets; you care about the "Why." You can discuss tradeoffs with Product Managers and understand business priorities.
- Security Awareness: Familiarity with ISO 27001 standards or general security best practices is a strong plus.
Location: You are based in a time zone compatible with a 9:00 AM Paris time (CET) daily stand-up.
What’s in it for You
- Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
- Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high-trust team, and you’ll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
- Minimum bureaucracy: We don’t like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable.
- Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
- Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning and expertise with each other internally.
- Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.
