About the Team

The DashPass Partnerships Engineering team is a team with a mission to deliver high impact 3rd party partnerships to DashPass through platform buildouts and integrations.

Partnerships is a key part of the DashPass subscriber growth strategy as partners help grow our subscriber base in all of our global markets, and also contribute to adding continuous value to our DashPass members through new membership benefits like special promotion incentives or new non-delivery benefits. This team will support DashPass’s growth goals and be a key lever especially in international markets as we expand our footprint.

About the Role

As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee a talented group of engineers, collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and operations. Your primary responsibility will be driving the successful execution of our partnerships roadmap, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality solutions that meet both customer needs, partnership goals, and business objectives. You will be key in fostering a collaborative and cross-functional work environment and promoting effective communication and synergy amongst team members. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can balance technical excellence, practical necessities with delivery, and effective prioritization of business needs.

  • Lead and grow a team of exceptional engineers, driving world class execution, and delivering end-to-end engineering solutions
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap
  • Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 7+ engineers across disciplines
  • Coordinate with multiple engineering teams inside and outside DoorDash to deliver a smoothly integrated partnership experience
  • Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking
  • Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team

We're excited about you because you have… 

  • BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend, web, & mobile) of 5+ engineers
  • 7+ years of industry experience
  • Experience working with remote teams in different time zone(s) and fluency in English
  • Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment
  • Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
  • Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition
  • Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback
  • Growth mindset - you're eager to expand your skill set and excited to carve out your career path in a hyper-growth setting
  • Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity - things can change quickly, and you'll need to help the team evolve
