Job Summary:
Oversees technical consulting activities within assigned scope of responsibility for one or more of the following processes: integration services, project services, solutions desk and business development. Provides high quality, cost effective, and efficient service to meet current and future demands. Optimizes facilities utilization, process execution and compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations. Provides leadership, coordination and work content for teams responsible for developing, evaluating, analyzing, revising, applying and deploying technical quality assurance tools, methods and appropriate work content. Provides oversight and direction regarding assigned team, financial and operational activities.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Manages engineering and quality team responsible for designing, developing, integrating and installing software systems per customer specifications.
- Oversees the planning, development and/or implementation of quality assurance procedures. Evaluates quality deviations to determine cause, effect, and corrective measures to remedy such deviations. Surveys customers periodically regarding accuracy of shipments, quality of product, efficiency of process, adherence to specifications and overall customer experience.
- Ensures work area is well maintained and in compliance with all safety regulations and department policies including Electro Static Discharge (ESD) requirements.
- Ensures equipment is safe, in good repair, functioning appropriately and calibrated to be in full compliance with required military, ISO and other quality standards. Participates in the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of new equipment or equipment enhancements.
- Creates, reviews, updates, presents, manages and/or contributes to a variety of statistical, narrative, financial regularly scheduled and ad hoc written and oral reports and presentations.
- Reviews assessment of productivity measures, identifies trends and monitors department activity.
- Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics.
- Ensures processes and items are in compliance with applicable quality assurance and industry standards, company, customer, supplier, government and regular requirements (ISO, Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
- Manages the design and installation of testing equipment, and product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates.
- Reviews various Quality Engineering and other related analyses, data and reports and provides appropriate support where necessary; recommends corrective action or improvement plans when necessary.
- Interfaces with and coordinates activities or internal cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, third part certifying bodies and other external stakeholders appropriate.
- Provides guidance for quality systems, quality tools, technical support, improvements and the provision of others quality expertise as appropriate, e.g., root cause analysis, sampling plans, Pareto analysis, statistical process control, etc.

- Interprets and administers policies, processes and procedures that affect direct reports and the workflow of the team/department. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Contributes to budget development and performance standards of department and direct reports.
- Assignments are defined in the form of objectives. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, business plans and independent judgment.
- Collaborates with team(s), customers/ clients, functional peer group managers and occasionally senior management. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives.
- Decisions may have impact on work processes and outcomes. Erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in serious delays and considerable expenditures of additional time, people and/or financial resources.
Work Experience:
- Typically 6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience
Education and Certification(s):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
- Position requires the ability to travel.
