About the Job :
The Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management team is looking for an Engineering Manager in India(Pune or Bangalore TBD). In this role, you will help to build, organize, and guide a newly formed engineering team to advance our existing multicluster management capabilities. You will play an integral part in establishing this new group as a hub for global coverage, serving as a cultural and technical bridge to ensure seamless collaboration with globally distributed teams in North America APAC & EU. We are looking for an experienced leader who is eager to learn new technology areas and foster an inclusive, supportive environment. What will you do?
Work to recruit and onboard new associates to join the growing team and establish team organization in support of the product direction.
Manage and motivate a newly formed engineering team in India, focusing on achieving targets and delivering high-quality enterprise software.
Guide the day-to-day work of the team, successfully collaborating with remote teams and stakeholders across different regions, including North America, APAC, & EU.
Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for the team’s components, ensuring rigorous project management and timely delivery of high-quality releases in alignment with global product milestones.
Act as a cultural bridge-builder, ensuring your team is fully integrated with global engineering operations, CI/CD pipelines, and shared processes to avoid creating silos.
Support your team in exploring new technology areas and adopting modern practices, actively encouraging an interest in AI-assisted development tools.
Provide regular feedback, coaching, and career development planning to help your team members grow and thrive.
Foster a safe environment for experimentation and learning with AI technologies by supporting projects and experiments that encourage efficiency and simplicity
Collaborate with technical leadership and product owners to align the team's work with the overarching engineering strategy and product vision.
What will you bring?
2 - 5 years of demonstrated experience in a people management or team leadership role, with a record of effectively managing technical teams.
Excellent communication skills and practical experience working with and aligning remote, globally distributed teams.
Ability to quickly learn and get up to speed on new technology areas, backed by a natural technology curiosity.
A supportive mindset and interest in AI tools and frameworks, even if you do not have direct experience using them.
Working knowledge of Agile or other appropriate software development principles and methodologies.
Extensive experience in managing software product development teams with a deep understanding of release management, including scoping, risk mitigation, and execution of complex release cycles.
Practical understanding of software development practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
The following are considered a plus:
Practical experience with Kubernetes is highly desirable along with familiarity in virtualization and/or cluster management, either directly or through the use of platforms like Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RHACM).
Experience contributing to or managing open source development projects.
Familiarity or direct experience with the Go programming language.
