The Engineering Lead Analyst is a senior, hands-on technical leadership position responsible for architecting and building the next-generation of platforms for our core Controls Technology area. As a hands-on technical leader for one or more scrum teams, you will be a key voice in our architecture, driving innovation and ensuring our engineering practices meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This is a role for a "player-coach" who thrives on impacting design, mentoring engineers, and contributing directly to the codebase.
Address operational use cases to manage IT as well as regulatory requirements. Understand the company’s requirements for technology inventory, reference data, and translate into an actionable backlog and roadmap. Drive delivery of the roadmap through collaboration with various partnering groups across the company. Engage with clients and ensure that the business requirements are being appropriately prioritized with appropriate solutions. Maintain and prioritize backlogs using JIRA, deliver cross team projects, and provide subject matter expertise on the aligned product.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap
Ensure that all integration of functions meet business goals
Define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process enhancements
Recommend product customization for system integration
Identify problem causality, business impact and root causes
Exhibit knowledge of how own specialty area contributes to the business and apply knowledge of competitors, products and services
Advise or mentor junior team members
Impact the engineering function by influencing decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating services
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Recommended Qualifications:
6-10 years of hands-on experience in software development, with a proven track record in building and designing robust backend systems.
Experience with Java / Spring Boot framework or with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular) is essential.
Strong experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) and building cloud-native applications.
Demonstrated experience leading technical projects or acting as a tech lead for a development team.
A keen interest in or experience with leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
Deep understanding of software architecture, microservice design patterns, and RESTful API development best practices.
Experience working in Financial Services or another large, complex global environment is highly desirable.
Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular) is a significant plus.
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
Proven track record of operational process change and improvement

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

$125,760.00 - $188,640.00
