Engineering & IT Systems Manager

WIVT/WETM-TV are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering & IT Systems Manager to support and maintain critical broadcast and information technology systems across multiple markets. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced broadcast environment and can effectively balance technical troubleshooting, system maintenance, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot broadcast and IT systems, including studio and control room automation, newsroom systems, cameras, audio equipment, and streaming encoders
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IP-based networking for servers and broadcast infrastructure
  • Diagnose signal flow and data flow issues using schematics and system documentation
  • Support remote broadcast feeds and streaming workflows
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to prioritize tasks and meet operational deadlines
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electronic and mechanical equipment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation for all systems and equipment

Required Qualifications

  • Strong ability to diagnose, research, and resolve issues within IP-based broadcast systems
  • Working knowledge of newsroom and production environments
  • Ability to manage responsibilities across multiple markets (Elmira and Binghamton)
  • Strong organizational, delegation, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics and system diagrams
  • Proactive approach to preventative maintenance and system reliability

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with broadcast systems such as Ross Xpression, Overdrive, BitCentral, and Dante audio
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting expertise in complex technical environments
  • Familiarity with modern newsroom operations and production workflows

Work Environment

This is an on-site position supporting broadcast operations in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. Flexibility and responsiveness to operational needs are essential.
