Role summary:
The General Industrial Verticals and Taneytown Business Unit (BU) Engineering team supports a variety of business-critical functions, including order-based technical documentation, bill of materials, product development and maintenance, and manufacturing support for Flowserve’s global customer network. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Intern.
Responsibilities:
Drive a culture based on the Flowserve Core Values and Behaviors
Foster cooperation between product engineering, end user, order fulfillment and Business Unit personnel with respect to the interpretation and execution of an order/project.
Ensure product safety and regulatory compliance through implementation of rigorous design control procedures and protocols
Drive process standardization and optimization through operational excellence, LEAN, and continuous improvement activities
Through adherence to engineering standards and processes, ensure quality, reliability, and market competitiveness in all product designs and their application
Provide a high standard of responsive, customer-centric, support to both internal and external customers through communication and collaboration as an individual and team
Act as an effective change agent, driving adoption and long-term acceptance of target engineering transformations based on strategy, practices, procedures, and systems
Participation in daily office-floor management charts to drive engineering team safety, on-time performance, and quality
Drive root-cause analysis and problem solving for internal/external escapes and process failures
Support the preparation and delivery of training programs and material as necessary for the deployment of newly developed or enhanced engineering tools, workflows, or procedures
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least 2 years of school completed
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools
Candidates must be available to work during the summer term, from May through August 2026 (estimated 10-week duration)
Skills :
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Possess basic mechanical aptitude
Excellent interpersonal skills
The pay range for this position is $25 hourly
