This is about building, transforming, and raising the standard

Responsibilities

  • Set enterprise standards for cloud database platforms, ensuring consistency in architecture, security, performance, and reliability across the bank

  • Own database solution design across the enterprise; make clear architectural decisions and partner closely with application and platform teams

  • Build and lead a high‑performance engineering organization, setting clear expectations, driving accountability, and developing strong technical leaders

  • Simplify consumption of database platforms through standard patterns, self‑service tooling, automation, and documentation

  • Drive platform performance and efficiency, balancing scalability, resiliency, and cost optimization across cloud environments

  • Lead large‑scale automation efforts across provisioning, patching, scaling, and operations to eliminate manual work

  • Own reliability and operational excellence, including availability, incident response, recovery, and continuous improvement

  • Raise the bar across the enterprise, driving transformation rather than maintenance and delivering measurable outcomes

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or other related field
- Three or more years of management experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Senior leadership experience in cloud database engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure at enterprise scale

  • Expertise in cloud database technologies across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments

  • Proven ability to define enterprise architecture standards and drive adoption across multiple teams

  • Strong background in high‑availability, performance optimization, resiliency, and disaster recovery for mission‑critical systems

  • Experience leading automation‑first platforms using IaC, CI/CD, and self‑service models

  • Track record of building, coaching, and scaling high‑performing engineering teams with strong accountability

  • Ability to operate at both deep technical and enterprise strategic levels, translating vision into execution

  • Experience working in regulated or high‑risk environments with strong security, compliance, and governance requirements
