Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as an Engineering Apprentice and be part of our mission to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. This apprenticeship opportunity offers practical experience working with an experienced engineering team across various engineering disciplines. You'll gain valuable exposure to meaningful projects while receiving professional mentorship and development opportunities to support your career growth.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to strategic initiatives, and develop practical skills through hands-on experience. Whether you're interested in automation, manufacturing, plant work, or design work, you'll be supported and enabled to achieve your career goals.
You'll work with the team to undertake equipment breakdown fixes, perform preventative maintenance, plant improvement projects, automation projects, and calibration activities, while working alongside experienced colleagues.
The role works in conjunction with a local college to support you on your journey with an NVQ Level 3 in Manufacturing Engineering, which runs alongside a BTEC level 3, leading onto an HNC level 4 in General Engineering.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be willing and able to enrol on an NVQ-Level 3 and BTEC Level 3 course in Rochester, Kent
• Will ideally be willing and able to continue onto an HNC Level 4 course in Rochester upon completion of BTEC
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Professional demeanour and strong work ethic
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Authorization to work in country of employment without sponsorship
• Ability to meet physical requirements specific to role and work environment
