The Opportunity
This four year apprenticeship combines college-based learning with on-the-job training. You will attend a local college, learning the fundamentals of engineering whilst working with our engineering experts in Hospitals, focusing on the necessary skills to prepare you for the role. These activities will be coordinated by a designed apprentice mentor.
You will learn many skills, such as diagnosing faults with the equipment and implementing solutions. Alongside this you will develop all the capabilities required to deliver best in class service. You will get the opportunity to visit our head office and state-of-the-art training facilities in West Sussex to undertake Technical training under the guidance of our Certified Trainers. Following a successful apprenticeship you will have gained a recognised Level III engineering qualification and the opportunity to apply for a permanent position within our expert engineering team, where a suitable role is available.
Who you are
To apply, you will need:
At least two A-Levels in any subject (or equivalent qualifications)
At least five GCSEs (grades 9–4) including Maths and English
A full driving licence (evidence of ongoing learning is acceptable)
Also the ideal candidates have excellent practical skills, a strong attention to detail and enjoy working in a team with good problem solving and communication skills. It’s also important to us that you have a passion about developing a career in engineering with an interest in science and desire to learn new skills.
Location and Recruitment Process
We offer three positions, each based in a specific region of the United Kingdom: Cheshire, North Lincolnshire, and Hampshire.
This is a field-based role, with approximately four days per week spent working within your assigned territory. You will be required to operate primarily within your designated region, with occasional travel as needed to support business requirements.
Your College studies will also be located within the designated region. (1 day per week)
