As part of the ATP – Fulfillment Data Services (FDS) team, you will help build and scale Available-to-Promise data services that process and serve billions of data streams every day. These services power highly critical P1, front-facing applications that enable accurate inventory availability and fulfillment experiences for our guests.

Our team owns a high-throughput aggregation platform that aggregates data from multiple upstream sources and delivers reliable, near real-time outputs to downstream consumers. We also build and maintain a configuration platform (GFC), which includes an internal user-facing UI used to manage and configure system behavior.

As an engineer on this team, you will primarily focus on backend systems built using Java/Kotlin, distributed and event-driven architectures, and scalable data processing. You will also contribute to UI development from time to time using React.js, particularly for internal tools and configuration experiences, ensuring usability, reliability, and operational excellence.

You demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and are passionate about building resilient, high-quality software. You balance speed of delivery with robustness, handle operational issues with little or no oversight, actively participate in code reviews, and engage in team ceremonies that influence system design and long-term technical direction.

About You

  • 4-year degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 1+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin, with experience building backend services
  • Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka)
  • Working knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases, including data modeling and query optimization
  • Familiarity with React.js and modern UI development practices, with willingness to contribute to frontend work as needed
  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms and how to apply them effectively
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to participate in code reviews, design discussions, testing, automation, and operational support
  • Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise and stays current with evolving technologies through formal training and self-directed learning
