The Quality & Mission Excellence (QME) Team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a talented Software Quality Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Review, develop and implement Software Quality related procedures and processes.
  • Manage Document Control and AS9100 Processes including internal and external audits
  • Collaborate with Quality, Operations and Engineering to maintain documentation of procedures to ensure strong well documented processes
  • Assist Software Quality Engineers with code reviews, Product reviews, Configuration Audits, Test Witnessing, and attending meetings as needed.

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills written and verbally, knowledgeable of programming languages, and the ability to process and analyze data quickly to identify areas for improvement opportunities.

Basic Qualifications the Software Quality Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline with minimum of 2 years of experience in Software Quality, Software Engineering or related discipline; Master’s degree in a STEM such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or Mathematics with 0 years of experience.
  • Software Development Life Cycle experience.
  • U.S Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in STEM such as computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Experience in computer programming language(s) (e.g. C, C++, C#, Java, Java Script, etc.)
  • Experience in audits of engineering processes.
  • Experience in software supplier management (i.e., supplier audits)
  • AS9100D experience.
  • Active Security Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
