We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Process Engineer to support high-precision manufacturing operations at Lumentum Thailand. This role is responsible for leading process development, driving technical problem resolution, and ensuring production readiness for both existing and new products. The Process Senior Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and global engineering groups to implement robust processes, improve yields and productivity, and ensure product quality meets Lumentum and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process execution and technical issue resolution to ensure production targets, yield, and quality requirements are achieved.

  • Transfer, install, set up, and verify new processes and equipment until fully released to mass production.

  • Lead manufacturing process and tooling design, validation, capability studies, and release to production.

  • Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, control plans, process flow, sample builds, and process optimization reports.

  • Conduct training for production teams and ensure strong ongoing process control on the manufacturing floor.

  • Act as the manufacturing engineering representative, collaborating with Production, Quality, NPI, and R&D teams to support builds, qualifications, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide technical solutions for process and product-related issues to improve yield, productivity, and cost efficiency.

  • Perform failure analysis—including hermetic seal inspections, cross-section work, and defect characterization—to support product performance improvement.

  • Utilize data analysis and process control tools to assess trends, optimize parameters, and drive sustainable improvements.

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing processes, running pilot builds, and ensuring smooth transition to volume manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in electronics, optical, photonics, or high-technology manufacturing, with hands-on process engineering responsibilities.

  • Strong experience with manufacturing equipment, tooling, process setup, validation, and sustaining activities.

  • Experience with failure analysis techniques—especially hermetic seal FA, cross-sectioning, and defect investigation.

  • Familiarity with process control tools such as SPC, PFMEA, DFMEA, MSA, or equivalent methodologies.

  • Proficiency in CAD (2D/3D), MS Office, and data analysis tools such as Minitab or JMP.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex process issues independently.

  • Good command of English—reading, writing, and speaking—for effective communication with global teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
