About the team 

The Client OFfice AI/ML CoE team is a horizontal CoE for Client Office that is helping us drive revenue and bring significant savings to our businesses by identifying, exploring, and implementing AI/ML solutions.

The Client Office is one of the three verticals in FIS. It has various products and solutions in funds management, cleared derivatives, commercial lending, corporate treasury, insurance risk electronic trading, RegTech, wealth and retirement etc.

The team consists of highly motivated solution architects, data scientists and ML engineers.

What you will be doing 

As a Data Scientist, you will be working on developing cutting-edge Gen AI and Agentic solutions across the organization.

 What you bring: 

Knowledge / Experience

  • 10+ years of overall experience with 4+ years on AI/Gen AI/Agentic AI
  • Strong experience in statistical analysis, experimentation, and data‑driven problem solving
  • Designing and developing end‑to‑end ML models — from data exploration to production deployment
  • Hands‑on experience building:
    • Predictive models
    • Classification and regression models
    • Clustering & segmentation
    • Time‑series forecasting
    • Optimization models
  • Expertise in feature engineering, data preprocessing, and handling large, messy, real‑world datasets
  • Experience with ML lifecycle: model training, validation, evaluation, monitoring, and retraining
  • Ability to work with big data ecosystems (Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, EMR, or similar)
  • Experience operationalizing ML using REST APIs, batch jobs, or cloud AI/ML services
  • Understanding of MLOps concepts (CI/CD for ML, model versioning, model drift, monitoring)
  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python, including scientific and ML libraries:
    • pandas
    • NumPy
    • scikit‑learn
    • TensorFlow / PyTorch
    • Statsmodels
  • Strong understanding of statistics, probability, hypothesis testing, and experiment design (A/B tests)
  • Hands‑on experience with SQL and working with relational & NoSQL databases
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear analytical solutions
  • Strong data visualization skills using:
    • Matplotlib / Seaborn
    • Plotly
    • Power BI / Tableau (optional)
  • Experience building reusable analytical pipelines and automation frameworks
  • Understanding of feature stores, data pipelines, and production ML patterns
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to business and technical team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with LLM‑based analytics, embeddings, or GenAI for data workflows
  • Familiarity with AutoML platforms (H2O, DataRobot, SageMaker Autopilot, Vertex AI, etc.)
  • Exposure to Graph ML, NLP, or Computer Vision
  • Knowledge of Reinforcement Learning or causal inference
  • Strong domain knowledge in BFSI, risk modeling, fraud detection, or customer analytics (if applicable)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
