Division: Ensci, Weir Minerals
Location: Bengaluru
Purpose of Role:
To support BU Engineering across the division in the areas of Layout engineering on Comminution and other mineral processing systems. The job also involves executing Pipe spool refurbishment projects for NAM region.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to Weir’s zero-harm behaviours in support of the drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Ensure that the company’s IP policies are adhered to at all times
Develop Prebid & detailed layout designs for comminution, mineral processing, sand washing or other similar plants. ensuring optimal use of space and resources.
Design the plant layout in compliance with the contract specific requirements
Design of plant utilities and other auxiliary equipment
Create and modify CAD drawings to reflect the layout of equipment, piping, and other plant components.
Collaborate with process engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the layout meets all technical and safety requirements.
Interpret the process flowsheet & prepare the layout accordingly
Ability to evaluate existing designs & propose design alternatives & optimization.
Participate in multidisciplinary reviews with electrical, structural, process & other stakeholders
Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Identify and resolve layout-related issues during the design and construction phases with the assistance of layout lead.
Optimize plant layout to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
Maintain accurate records of all layout designs and modifications.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for project stakeholders.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Education and Qualifications:
Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent. More than 5 years of relevant experience in executing medium to large sized projects in comminution domain
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, UG NX, SketchUp, Tekla).
Exposure to PLM system
Exposure to review software such as Navisworks or equivalent
familiar with the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of at least two or more products & systems & Integration of different products
Proficient in at least one or more regional codes & standards.
Design in accordance with regional codes & standards with primary focus on safety and ergonomic design
Familiar with the design of Bins, Chutes and other utilities.
Experience in mineral processing products and familiar with installation, maintenance , & accessibility guidelines
Ability to evaluate existing designs & propose design alternatives & optimization.
Problem-solving skills to address layout-related issues during design and construction phases.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Participate in multidisciplinary reviews with electrical, structural, process & other stakeholders
Prepare Work breakdown structure (WBS) & estimate for the project effort
Participate in technical discussions with Customers & other stakeholders
Troubleshoot customer issues reported with the assistance of lead engineers
Technical verification of bought out items & suitability for project
