Job Description
Discover Impactful Work
As a member of the Bioprocessing Collaboration Center (BCC), you will contribute to the development, evaluation, and application of downstream bioprocessing solutions that support robust and scalable biomanufacturing. This role focuses on chromatography-based purification platforms and data-driven process evaluation within a collaborative, customer-facing technical environment.
You will work closely with scientists, engineers, and customers to generate high-quality experimental data, interpret process performance, and communicate insights that support process understanding and implementation across development and manufacturing contexts.
Location: On-site in St. Louis, MO. Relocation assistance is NOT provided.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.
A Day in the Life
In this role, you will:
- Design and execute downstream experiments supporting purification process evaluation and optimization, with emphasis on chromatography and UF/DF operations.
- Develop, optimize, and execute AKTA-based chromatography methods, including creation and modification of UNICORN control and analysis methods.
- Evaluate process performance using experimental data to identify trends, sensitivities, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support activities related to process scale-up, implementation, and transfer through well-documented experimental execution and data analysis.
- Troubleshoot downstream unit operations, equipment, and workflows, applying sound engineering and scientific principles.
- Prepare technical documentation including experimental plans, protocols, reports, and presentations.
- Communicate experimental results and technical recommendations clearly to multidisciplinary internal teams and external customers.
- Contribute to evaluation and demonstration of Thermo Fisher technologies within the Bioprocessing Collaboration Center.
