The Enterprise Engineering organization supports internal-facing technology use cases that bring the associate experience to life. From office technology and support to laptops and SaaS applications, this organization is at the heart of an associate’s technology experience.
Position Summary
The Infrastructure & Platform Support Engineer II provides hands-on technical support and contributes to the operation and improvement of workplace enterprise technologies that support the digital mailroom, physical security & safety systems, and real estate facility management environments. This role blends systems engineering, platform administration, basic DevOps practices, secure configuration, and day-to-day operational support across Linux, Windows, and SaaS platforms. In this role, you will assist in designing, configuring, securing, monitoring, and optimizing platforms that support critical workplace enterprise operations. You will work closely with senior engineers, product owners, and vendors to translate requirements into stable, efficient solutions while developing a product-oriented engineering mindset.
This hybrid role is designed to support our business partners and be co-located with tech teams, requiring onsite attendance 2-3 days per week or as business demands. The designated office location is within the DMV area.
Responsibilities
Assist with platform support and contribute to engineering work that upholds high operational standards.
Support, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows server environments, including application servers, integrations, and system services under Senior Engineer guidance.
Participate in implementing infrastructure solutions for workplace technologies—including digital mailroom, physical security & safety systems, and facility management platforms—across on-prem systems and SaaS applications.
Contribute to building reliable platform configurations with an emphasis on maintainability, scalability, and standardization.
Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning with direction from senior engineers.
Support DevOps activities such as CI/CD execution, automation scripting, monitoring configuration, and Infrastructure-as-Code deployments.
Assist in implementing observability components, including logs, dashboards, alerts, and health checks.
Apply secure configuration practices and follow established compliance, segmentation, and access-management controls.
Support platform lifecycle tasks such as patching, upgrades, capacity checks, backup monitoring, and disaster-recovery testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and senior engineers while communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Build positive working relationships with teammates, managers, and business partners to support platform service delivery.
Qualifications
Experience supporting engineering efforts or contributing to enterprise-scale platform operations.
Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, and authentication protocols (Kerberos, LDAP, SAML/OAuth), with basic understanding of Azure AD/identity integrations.
Hands-on Linux administration experience (Ubuntu, RHEL, or similar); certifications a plus but not required.
Foundational scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Basic understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, VLANs, and secure connectivity.
Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), virtualization (vSphere/Hyper-V), and container concepts (Docker/Kubernetes).
Basic understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar technologies.
Familiarity with database concepts and integration with enterprise systems (MySQL/PostgreSQL/SQL Server/Oracle).
Ability to support secure system design practices by following established policies, controls, and best practices.
Demonstrated interest in applying a product mindset and learning long-term platform strategy.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support deployments and collaborate across technical and business teams.
Experience
2+ years of professional non-internship experience as a Systems Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer in an enterprise environment, with strong preference given to those owning or leading internal-facing platforms necessitating interactions with internal enterprise customers.
2+ years of experience with architecture and design
2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
2+ years of experience in open source frameworks

Annual Salary
$80,000.00 - $160,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
