We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Engineer II to join our team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and maintaining Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to ensure alignment with current manufacturing processes, identify potential risks, and drive process improvements. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions identified through PFMEA, mitigating potential failure modes and enhancing the overall robustness and reliability of processes. This role will play a critical part in addressing operational challenges at our manufacturing site and driving improvements in product reliability, quality, and performance.

This position will sit at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid, with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote.

What YOU will do:

  • Lead and facilitate PFMEA sessions with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks in manufacturing processes.
  • Document and analyze potential failure modes, root causes, and their effects, assigning Risk Priority Numbers (RPNs) based on severity, occurrence, and detection criteria.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to recommend and implement corrective actions for mitigating process risks.
  • Provide technical expertise on manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and support the implementation of corrective actions to address process-related challenges.
  • Partner with quality, design, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on process improvements and product health objectives.
  • Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Communication and presentation skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) experience

Qualifications We Prefer::

  • Experience with FMEA methodology, including steps for identifying failure modes, assigning RPNs, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and manufacturing systems.
  • Expertise in Root Cause Analysis methods (e.g., fault tree analysis, 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams) to improve yield. 
  • Experience reading and interpreting assembly drawings, circuit card schematics, and assembly instructions. 
  • Experience with electronics design and related processes.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
