Job Description

Microchip AES Design team in Bangalore is looking for motivated Physical Design Principal Engineer to implement RTL2GDSII for larger SOCs. As a member of Physical Design team, you will be responsible for place and route, timing closure and physical verification checks for multiple blocks and top level.

Location: Bangalore, India

Job Responsibilities:

The employee is responsible for complete physical design of multiple large complex sub-systems & Top-level implementation in lower node technologies like from 16nm to 3nm. The employee is expected to take ownership of Full Chip/multiple complex design & flow challenges, which would include:

  • Floor-planning, Place & Route and CTS using physical design tools like Innovus and ICC2.
  • Physical verification and IP Integration.
  • Physical Design Flow and Methodology.
  • IR and EM checks.
  • Use metric-driven techniques to help ensure first-pass working silicon.
  • Physical Design Flow, Methodology development and automation.
  • Occasional travel needed.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Job Qualifications:

This position requires B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech candidates in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.

  • Understand logic STA timing requirement (setup/hold/uncertainties).
  • Scripting skills in any programming language (preferably Perl, TCL and Shell).
  • Basic design knowledge of RTL (VHDL/VERILOG) coding.
  • Knowledge of logic synthesis concepts.
  • Able to work independently under local project lead/supervisor mentorship.
  • Excellent debugging and analytical skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
