Job Description

Job Summary:

Core member of the New Product Introduction (NPI) team(s), responsible for the manufacturability and industrialization of future printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) in support of the Business Unit's strategic objectives. This role ensures that new designs are seamlessly transitioned into production with robust, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing processes.

Under general direction, the Senior Engineer supports the introduction of new electronic products into manufacturing in accordance with the RA Common Product Development (CPD) processes. The role involves close collaboration with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure optimal product and process design for manufacturability and compliance. The engineer will define and validate PCBA manufacturing processes, develop process specifications and control methods, and lead equipment and process qualification. They will also create documentation and work instructions to support internal training and production readiness. A strong understanding of PCBA technologies, DFM/DFA principles, and industrialization practices is essential. You will be reporting to Industrialization Design Manager and will be based in Singapore working 5 days/week from office.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Industrialization representative on NPI and Continuation Engineering project teams.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure PCBA designs meet manufacturability and compliance standards.
  • Define and document PCBA manufacturing strategies, process flows, and specifications.
  • Develop and implement process control requirements and control methods.
  • Lead equipment and process validation and qualification activities.
  • Create Documented Work Instructions (DWIs) and training materials for internal production engineers and technicians.
  • Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
  • Track and report product manufacturing costs throughout the NPI lifecycle.
  • Lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Coordinate and support prototype and pilot build activities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
  • Support cost reduction and process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Collaborate with EMS partners and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth industrialization and production readiness.

The Essentials- You will Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in PCBA or electronic assembly manufacturing, with at least 3 years in industrialization or NPI roles.
  • Experience working in or with EMS providers is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of SMT, reflow, wave soldering, conformal coating, and PCBA process control.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001), DFM/DFA principles, and GD&T.·
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and manufacturing documentation tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CAD or PCB viewer tools is a plus.
  • Some travel is required (10%–15%)
