What You’ll do 

  • This is an Engineer I role supporting the Meetings and Events technology portfolio

  • Performs hands-on software development & testing 75 to 80% of time

  • Functions as a core member of an agile team driving user story analysis & elaboration, design and development of software applications, testing & builds automation tools

  • Performs ongoing refactoring of code & drives continuous improvement in code structure & quality. The engineer uses visualization and other techniques to fast-track concepts

  • Contributes to writing code, API specs, conducting code reviews & testing in ongoing sprints or doing proof of concepts/automation tools

  • Owns a list of technical requirements that need to be included in product backlog based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects & issues

  • Liaise with technical product manager to help manage prioritization of items in product backlog for ongoing sprints

  • Identifies opportunities to adopt innovative technologies

  • Proactively monitor all components of the platforms to ensure maximum performance, efficiency and availability

  • Validate system upgrades and patches when required

  • Upgrade system software and hardware components as required to meet business needs

  • Ensure upgrades are occurring in accordance with established parameters

  • Provide appropriate user support as assigned

  • Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps

  • Provide training as required

What We're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, information technology, computer related discipline or 5 years of IT work experience in a global information technology infrastructure environment

  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience with 2 years of focused development experience on Meetings and Events applications in Business Travel Industry

  • Must be willing and able to work in 2nd shifts (3:00 PM IST to 12:00 AM IST) and occasional weekends as required.

  • Must be willing to work from Bangalore office location minimum 3 days in a week.

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile or other rapid application development methods

  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and takes pride in how fast they develop working software

  • Must be able to work in a team environment with a “can do” attitude capable of overcoming difficult challenges

  • Demonstrated experience with object-oriented design and coding skills across a variety of platforms with priority on Microsoft Technologies (.NET C#, SOA/Web Services, SSRS, SSIS, REST API, JSON, HTML/HTML5, CSS3, XML, AJAX, jQuery, JavaScript, AngularJS, Selenium, Python, J2EE)

  • AWS experience is preferred but not mandatory and experience with distributed (multi-threaded) systems, algorithms, message queuing, and relational/XML databases

  • Exposure to Potstgres/SQL/Stored procedure development

  • Experience developing AI-driven solutions utilizing LLMs a plus

  • Ability to effectively communicate across third parties, technical and business product managers on solution design

  • Ability to enable business capabilities through innovation

  • Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail and excellent judgment skills

  • Ability to establish new standards for quality, performance or productivity

  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills, strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, contractors, managers, 3rd parties, and customers as needed. Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality
