About the Role

This is a Software Development Engineer role on the Cloud Runtime Protection team that builds the core of the CrowdStrike Falcon platform: the lightweight sensor. You will be at the forefront of securing the next generation of cloud-native and AI workloads. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies like eBPF, you will design and implement critical, high-performance features in the sensor. Your innovations will extend the Falcon platform's unparalleled power to deliver seamless visibility, advanced detection, and robust prevention for the emerging threat landscape of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning infrastructure running across millions of systems in dynamic environments like Kubernetes. This role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site in our Sunnyvale, CA office.

What You'll Do:

  • Learn to build runtime security solutions for Cloud and AI workloads deployed at scale

  • Develop Linux system software components for security under the guidance of senior engineers

  • Collaborate with engineering partnerships to understand security requirements of Cloud & AI service providers

  • Assist in monitoring, testing, and debugging systems to ensure reliability and performance

  • Work within a team of engineers to support a culture of high product quality and excellence

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sensor and cloud solutions

  • Participate in code reviews to improve your technical skills and contribute to team knowledge

  • Learn engineering best practices including secure coding, testing paradigms, debugging, and performance measurement

  • Support technical initiatives focused on AI workloads, VMs, Containers and Orchestrators security across cloud environments

  • Grow your skills through mentorship and hands-on experience with real-world security challenges

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical field

  • Strong foundation in C/C++ programming

  • Understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems

  • Knowledge of multi-threading concepts

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and container technologies (like Kubernetes, Docker)

  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a distributed team

  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the cybersecurity field

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Linux kernel development or modules

  • Familiarity with eBPF programming

  • Knowledge of hypervisors or virtualization technologies

  • Experience with Windows development

  • Contributions to open-source projects

  • Internship or project experience related to cybersecurity

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $90,000 - $125,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
