Engineer- Field IT Support

Overview

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Field IT Member to join our Tokyo Head Office team. This role involves hands-on IT support, infrastructure management, and coordination with global teams to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong bilingual communication skills, a solid technical foundation, and experience in a multinational IT environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Technical Support & Issue Resolution:
    Provide on-site and remote support for hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Escalation Management:
    Act as a point of escalation for end-users and coordinate with global IT teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Security & Compliance:
    Enforce IT security protocols and ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.
  • Meeting & Event Support:
    Set up and support townhalls and high-profile meetings, including AV equipment and connectivity for senior executives.
  • Asset Management:
    Oversee the lifecycle of IT assets including procurement, deployment, tracking, and disposal of hardware and mobile devices.
  • Vendor Coordination:
    Liaise with external vendors for hardware/software procurement, maintenance contracts, and service delivery.
  • Invoice Processing:
    Manage and process invoices related to IT assets and network services, ensuring accuracy and timely approvals.
  • Autopilot & Device Staging:
    Support Windows Autopilot provisioning and device staging processes to ensure smooth deployment and configuration of endpoints.

Technical Competencies

Hands-on experience preferred; foundational knowledge acceptable in some areas.

Requirements

  • Language Proficiency:
    Native or business-level Japanese and English (spoken and written); JLPT N2 or above.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and security principles.
  • Industry Experience:
    Familiarity with Japanese business culture and IT regulatory environment.
  • Work Environment:
    Experience in multinational or large-scale IT operations.
  • Service Management Tools:
    Exposure to ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms is a plus.
  • Professional Experience:
    Minimum 4–5 years in IT operations, infrastructure support, or technical service roles.
