[What the role is]
The Radiation Protection and Nuclear Science Group in NEA is the national authority for radiation protection in Singapore and serves to protect the public, radiation workers and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation.
[What you will be working on]
As an Engineer/Executive Engineer/Senior Engineer of the Nuclear Planning and Strategy Department in the Nuclear Safety Division, you will be responsible for the following:
- Ensure that Singapore is able to fulfil its obligations under various international conventions and agreements on nuclear safety, security and safeguards
- Implement activities tasked by inter-ministry committee and its working groups
- Provide technical support and advice on nuclear safety, security and safeguards matters to relevant government agencies
- Monitor nuclear science and technology developments and provide technical assessment
- Monitor developments in international conventions and agreements and provide assessment
[What we are looking for]
Job Requirements:
- Good Honours Degree in Engineering
- 2-5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the energy sector or regulatory role
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good analytical, writing and presentation skills
- Able to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Able to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines
- Able to adapt to changes and has a positive work attitude
- Highly motivated, meticulous, committed and takes initiative
- Aptitude to understand concepts in radiation protection and nuclear science
- Able to travel overseas for official trips
- Able to commence overseas Masters’ degree programme in the year of recruitment, if required
