This Electromechanical Engineering position is an engineering support role located in Rolling Meadows, IL focusing on electronic packaging and payload design. The candidate will be assisting with design of circuit card assemblies packaging, and payload electronics task.  The qualified candidate will work with a diverse and talented team of engineers developing innovative and cost-effective systems that support a broad range of products and business areas across the lifecycle of a program. This position will report to electronics and payload mechanical manager in Rolling Meadows, IL. Minimal travel is expected.

Roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Mechanical requirements analysis

  • Mechanical packaging and design of payload ECAs

  • Review of mechanical drawing and documents

  • Structure and thermal analysis

  • Test fixture design for environmental testing

  • Electronic and payload level test fixture design

  • Hardware level integration and test

  • Development of mechanical drawing and design document

  • Participate in hardware design reviews

  • Material procurement and vendor support

  • Support of ECA testing

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S degree in a mechanical engineering with 2 Years of experience; 0 Years with Masters.

  • Experience with electrical, electronic and mechanical principles

  • Knowledge in design and test of electromechanical systems

  • Ability to interpret mechanical requirements and perform basic mechanical analysis.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a cross-functional team with other engineers

  • Experience with structural and/or thermal analysis

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with Poly

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly

  • Minimum 2 years of mechanical packaging design experience

  • Experience with, MPLM, NX, and NG drawing release process

  • Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously

  • Familiarity with MPLM and drawing release process

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
