About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Development Quality Engineer specializing in hardware products to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in automotive core tools, PLM gating processes, DFMEA, and problem-solving techniques. Development Quality brings the voice of customer to the project throughout the lifecycle with special focus on design to meet field, service, and initial quality targets.
What You Will Do
Prepare and execute project quality assurance plans & assess development process quality of events
Facilitate/participate in Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (DFMEA)
Facilitate/participate in Function Block Analysis (FBA)
Prepare and participate in PLM gate processes to manage hardware product development phases effectively, ensuring alignment with quality objectives and milestones.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and supply chain to define and implement quality requirements and standards for iPSO & SOP.
Work closely with hardware designers to identify and address quality issues during the design phase.
Participate in design reviews and provide input on design improvements from a quality perspective.
Assess release readiness, project development KPIs & ensure implementation of design process risk assessment and prevention tools.
Facilitate/participate hardware-related issues reported by customers or internal teams by using problem solving methods (8D, A3, etc.).
Provide guidance and training to team members on HARMAN BMS Process (IATF 16949, ISO9001, ASPICE, etc.), automotive core tools, PLM gate processes, DFMEA, and problem-solving methodologies.
Ensure high-quality sample builds during development phases in the pilot factory with AME team, ensuring all builds meet required specifications and customer expectations.
Quality contact during the development stage for local OEMs, managing product quality status & risks related to customer milestones (e.g. KPI’s, ML reviews. Etc.) and resolving any quality concerns.
What You Need to Be Successful
Degree in Electronics & communications, electrical engineering, Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related fields.
5-8 years of experience in hardware development and quality assurance, preferably in Automotive Industry.
Strong knowledge of automotive core tools including APQP, PPAP, and FMEA, ASPICE, VDA6.3
Experience with PLM gates (EV/DV/PV) processes and product lifecycle management systems.
Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, A3, or similar.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality and reliability of hardware products, integrating DFMEA and PLM best practices.
Bonus Points if You Have
Experience with automotive industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ASPICE and VDA 6.3.
Thorough understanding of Hardware Product development lifecycle, gate reviews, etc.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across teams and with customers.
Experience in managing customer audits and addressing complex quality-related issues.
Proficiency in advanced problem-solving tools like 8D, A3, and Fishbone Diagrams.
