Job Summary: You will serve as an ENGINEER in the Atlantic Test Facilities Division of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the Chief Engineer (CHENG) for the AUTEC Program, responsible for providing department-level oversight of the technical execution of AUTEC's projects.
  • You will ensure compliance with external and internal engineering instructions and requirements and help define the systems engineering processes and tools for the AUTEC Program.
  • You will participate in development of technical solutions of complex engineering problems in areas related to USW Range Technology, Industrial Services, Systems Engineering, and for development and integration.
  • You will provide leadership to facilitate technical exchanges on engineering and technology development activities.
  • You will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the AUTEC's technical efforts and processes.
  • You will ensure Research and Development activity identifies and evaluates advanced technologies and processes.
  • You will promote partnership with other departments at Division Newport and other Naval Warfare Centers on technology and strategy initiatives/proposals.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: as a professional engineer providing undersea tracking range subject matter expertise to manage strategic range operations, configuration management, operations planning, perform cost analyses, and/or support test and evaluation efforts of complex systems for ensuring system performance standards are assessed.
