Job Summary: You will serve as a ENGINEER in the SENSORS WEAPONS & LAUNCHERS DEPARTMENT E64 of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Major Duties:

  • You will provide professional engineering services involved with the execution of work assignments pertaining to complex project oriented in-service engineering services to launching systems.
  • You will provide on-site engineering expertise such as design, development, fabrication, delivery and life cycle supports of assigned equipment.
  • You will conduct research and comprehensive design studies into development acquisition or in-service engineering as part of assigned systems.
  • You will prepare, review and/or modify technical documentation relative to all phases of life cycle support.
  • You will independently plan, organize and coordinate support to the AEGIES Combat System.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer conducting design, research studies and proposing solutions to resolve testing problems of computer, mechanical, or electronic systems and equipment for shipboard launch systems.
