Job Summary: You will serve as an ENGINEER in the COMBAT SYSTEMS CAPABILITES & LIMITATIONS BRANCH, SELF DEFENSE TEST SHIP DIVISON, COMBAT SYSTEMS TEST & EVALUATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.

Major Duties:

  • You will define, plan, and execute the full project lifecycle for each Capabilities and Limitations document using Microsoft Project and the established Work Break-Down Structure (WBS) hierarchy.
  • You will define, plan, and execute projects involving a wide range of conventional assignments within various combat systems.
  • You will review and validate the technical scope of work with department System Engineers and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) stakeholders to establish clear project baselines and objectives.
  • You will provide technical guidance, to include review of technical data packages for FMS AEGIS, and ensure optimal safety, effectiveness, affordability, and supportability are satisfied.
  • You will be responsible for analyzing the effectiveness of individual weapon systems In light of current and projected threats, and the development of technical exposition of the results.
  • You will apply engineering judgment, and established methods and techniques to attack and resolve complex engineering Issues, providing authoritative technical advice and assistance for Inclusion Into various Capabilities and Limitations documents.
  • You will review documentation to ensure procedural compliance with regulating Navy instruction and specifications.
  • You will effectively interface and clearly communicate with various team members (Authors, Technical editor, configuration manager, other team leads, etc.)
  • You will execute the complete internal and external technical review process by assembling and distributing draft Capabilities and Limitations packages to stakeholders.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer leading teams in the development, production, and sustainment of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Combat Systems Capabilities and Limitations (C&L) documents and associated data packages.
