Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the MK 46 Gun Weapon System (GWS) project manager who oversees acquisition, production, integration, and test and evaluation efforts for the assigned commodity.
  • You will develop plans and procedures to extend existing knowledge and tests to account for newly emerging ideas and concepts for the assigned GWS.
  • You will make presentations to large and small audiences; estimate projects based upon established MK46 specifications and Program Office needs.
  • You will plan and coordinate design, test, and logistical support with internal and external customers across a broad spectrum of government employees, active duty military, other government organizations, and industry.
  • You will utilize available resources, project future workload, and actively seek ways to increase program efficiency.
  • You will prepare financial budgets, track expenditures vs. work accomplishments, use Milestone charts/Microsoft Project to plan and execute projects, and issue reports to sponsors as required.

Qualifications: In addition to basic education requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 band (GS-09/11 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer, applying engineering/scientific theories, concepts, and practices to lead acquisition, production, integration, or test and evaluation efforts for weapon system projects.
